9 Professions that are Hiring

We are in the midst of a recession and jobs are hard to come by. According to the Boston Globe, there are certain sectors of the economy that are still hiring. In this report, the areas that are hiring comprise mainly of niche professions and among them are:
1. Medical Professions such as chief medical officer
2. Information Technology positions at biotech and pharmaceutical companies
3. High-tech lab equipment operators
4. Chief Scientific officer
5. Educators in for-profit, distance Education and corporate learning
6. Conservation and Environmental “czar”
7. Software engineer positions in software related to mobile devices and in the healthcare field including writers of open source software such as writing apps for the iPhone.
8. Media expert in companies to explain new media like Twitter, Facebook, blogs etc.
9. SEO or Search Engine Marketing positions for a variety of companies to make their websites more prominent in web searches.

Interesting article. The positions are out there. Some companies are hiring. you may have to dig deeper and network more effectively. It is also a buyers market so job seekers are at a disadvantage. Be ready to compete and know how to interview or you'll lose the opportunity.
